Heesen launches Satori

Heesen Yachts launched the 50-metre Satori in early 2011. With a top speed of 24 knots, it is among the fastest 50-metre yachts in the world. The name Satori refers to Zen Buddhism’s concept of sudden enlightenment, which is the first step towards Nirvana. Aside from the speed advantage, Heesen’s work on hydrodynamic hull design and weight reduction also equals fuel savings. According to the builder, Satori has a range of 3200 nautical miles at 12 knots at a relatively low fuel-burn rate. Yacht interior design specialist Remi Tessier handled the interiors, which aim at fine detailing rather than extravagance. There is room for up to ten guests, with four exterior deck areas for outdoors enjoyment.
