Simpson Marine, Asia's largest yacht brokerage company, announced its expansion into Indonesia with a head office in Jakarta and a branch office in Bali. The Indonesian offices will join the existing nine sales offices across Asia and will be managed by Xavier Fabre, who formerly served as the Managing Director for First Yacht in Dubai.

In an interview with Asia-Pacific Boating, Fabre noted that the market for yachts in Indonesia seems to be growing quickly. For many residents of Jakarta, long known for its traffic jams and congestion, the growth of facilities north of the city, near the sea, provides a means of escape. s

Xavier has managed and developed many activities within the yachting business internationally including the development of yacht dealerships, new yacht sales, brokerage and fleet management for many famous yacht brands across the Middle East, USA, Mauritius and Indonesia. Xavier has been living in Indonesia for the past two years and has a passion for sailing, is fluent in French and English and has skippered charter yachts in the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean.Paul Whelan, General Manager of Simpson Marine (SEA), said that the opening of Simpson Marine’s new office in Indonesia would capitalize on that market’s continued growth in luxury spending.
