Seawind launches new 1000XL2
Published: Wednesday, 07 September 2011
There’s a new Seawind Catamaran prowling the seas. The first Seawind 1000XL2 has just been delivered to its new owners in Brisbane. The Seawind 1000XL2 builds on the strengths of the Seawind 1000, which was the first catamaran to win “Australian Cruising Boat of the Year” for its excellent value for money, efficient performance and sea going ability, optimised short handed control and comfortable yet practical layout.
The 1000XL2 has an additional hardtop extension over the helm and cockpit that offers even better protection from the elements than the standard soft bimini. It also features a galley and saloon hatch, allowing the chef to easily pass food from the galley into the saloon, plus open up the galley for more ventilation, light and communication.
The saloon has been refined with a beautiful timber table that become an outstanding showpiece of the cockpit, with practical foldaway sides allowing easy access to the end seating in the saloon. Seawind has also adopted some of the expertise of its newly acquired subsidiary Corsair Marine into its construction. The 1000XL2 is is now fully vacuum bagged using woven fiberglass materials, making the boat stronger and lighter by up to 500 kilograms.
The Seawind 100XL2 promises to make an award-winning catamaran even more fun to sail. Contact Karen Ball at Asia Yacht Services for more information about the 1000XL2 and or other Seawind models.
