The US-built Lohengrin, a 49-metre Trinity Yacht, has arrived in Hong Kong and will be based in Asia, spending time both in Hong Kong and in Hainan. The mainland Chinese owner is reportedly also the founder of Hainan Airlines, whose base of operations is in Haikou. The yacht is registered in Hong Kong, and currently based at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Marina, which is now in the process of building a new pier for superyachts.
Lohengrin (which refers to a character in the German Arthurian tales known as the Swan Knight) was designed in house at Trinity, while the interiors were handled by Scott Carpenter. Lohengrin has a beam of 8.5-metres and is powered by twin Caterpillars with 2,250 horsepower each. The yacht can cruise comfortably at 18 knots and has transoceanic range.
Trinity Yachts specializes in luxury custom boats in steel or aluminium up to 122 metres.
