Oyster Marine launches first superyacht
Published: Thursday, 01 December 2011
From its leased production facilities in Turkey, UK cruising yacht builder Oyster Marine has launched its much-anticipated first yacht in its superyacht series, the 100DS. Featuring design by Ed Dubois, the 100 provides plenty of internal volume for long-range expeditions in comfort and stability. Dubois has plenty of experience with sailing superyacht design, having worked on such illustrious yachts as Twizzle for Royal Huisman, Lady B for Vitters, Kokomo for Alloy Yachts and Zefira for Fitzroy.
The 100 offers a raised saloon with a panoramic view. This leads forward and down to a more intimate lounge and separate dining area. Forward of the main living area is the crew mess, galley and two crew cabins.
The standard accommodation layout offers three staterooms aft and two crew cabins forward. The two family/guest staterooms have two large single beds, which are fitted on slide rails which can be pushed together to form a large double bed. A third fold down bed is also available.
The complete story will appear in the January-February Print Edition of Asia-Pacific Boating. Read the full review of the Oyster 575.
