Serenity Marina in Sanya, Hainan, appears to be on track for her end-of-year official opening as first images of the marina from over the weekend showcased both the arrival of the 220-foot sailing superyacht Vertigo and the newly inaugurated Sanya International Boat Show. The show had 50 exhibitors, with dispalys on land and in the water. A number of the region's most prominent yacht dealers have set up offices in the new marina.

Though its clear there is more work to be done on landscaping and some final touch ups, much of the infrastructure is ready to go. Vertigo is reportedly on her way to Vietnam. The marina has 322 berths available when operations begin on January 15. The Volvo Ocean Race is due to arrive in Sanya in mid-February, and the home base will be the Serenity Marina in Sanya.
