The superyacht A owned by a Russian billionaire, Andrey Melnichenko, has docked in Singapore at the Marina at Keppel Bay. Named after Andrey and his wife Aleksandra, the 119m A has a radical shape that makes people think about a submarine. With a crew of about 37 people, 44 security cameras and more than a dozen exterior cameras fitted with motion-detection systems and a night-vision infrared system, it’s a reflection of Russian community’s high regard of safety and security. Supported by two high-speed diesel engines, A can cruise up to 24 knots. The yacht owes its futuristic appearance to design by Philippe Starck.
