The 4000 enjoyed a double win from both Cruising World and Sailing World in their Boat of the Year competition for 2012. The Tartan 4000 embodies all of the recent Tartan technologies and advanced performance cruising conveniences, including composite cored hulls and decks with vacuum infused BPA epoxy, carbon fiber mast, pocket boom and rudder, Cruise Control Rigs, and outfitted with the finest hardware on the market today

The dark-blue hull offers great stability and a white, low-profile cabin, the 4000 keeps the classic Tartan look. On deck, there is much attention to detail to create a good looks and seaworthiness. Wide side decks and molded bulwarks with a solid teak caprail provide safe and secure movement fore and aft. Great ventilation is also present, which is a tradition of Tartan, with all opening stainless steel houseside portlights, cockpit portlights, stainless steel deck hatches and four stainless steel dorade ventilators with stainless guards.  Besides, twin wheel system is used and provides the helmsman a great sailing position.

The Tartan 4000 features handcrafted, solid stock cherry cabinetry befitting the finest sailing yachts built in America. Her cabins are finely varnished. The forward one is dedicated as the owner’s stateroom and the main cabin is the social center of the interior with comfortable sofa seating, a drop leaf table and furniture grade cabinets.

The galley has been designed with thoughtful storage, extensive counter space, top and front access icebox and a complete set of marine appliances. The nav station is the center for on-board systems control and owners can choose whether to have a single second cabin layout with large cockpit access storage or a split two cabin arrangement.

Tartan Yachts is now represented in Thailand and Singapore by George Foose, who will be showcasing a Tartan 4000 at PIMEX in Phuket (Starts March 29) and at the Singapore Yacht Show, on April 27-29.
