Feadship delivers Blue Sky to China

Feadship has launched the 44.65-metre Blue Sky, the last of its semi-custom F45 Vantage series, with a ceremony that combined Chinese and Dutch traditions. The owner sent his personal representative to accept delivery of a superyacht for which Feadship added a helicopter deck, as well as dedicated karaoke and Mah-jong rooms. The addition of a helideck on a yacht this size was unusual, but doable. The sale of Blue Sky was agreed upon at the Hainan Rendezvous last spring, in Sanya, during the widely publicised tour of the F45 Helix, which is now heading back to the Mediterranean after a lengthy tour in Asia.
The launch event included Chinese lion dancers, with a joint christening by the owner’s representative and Jeanette van Mil, wife of Operational Director Peter van Mil. Blue Sky features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with styling developed by Feadship and Sinot Yacht Design. The interiors were handled by Bannenberg & Rowell Design and Sinot. “Blue Sky features a fresh contemporary interior with lots of lightweight loose furniture. The sky deck lounge is a dedicated karaoke space with an 85-inch television, while the Mah-jong room is found aft of the wheelhouse and includes a state-of-the-art table that shuffles the tiles and deals the dice automatically. This room can also be converted into an additional cabin with its own bathroom," said Dickie Bannenberg. All the accommodation is on the main deck.
