On March 14, Benetti's second Crystal 140’ BY002, Luna was launched at the Azimut-Benetti Group’s Lusben shipyard adjacent to the company's headquarters. Following the traditional breaking of a bottle on the hull, the yacht was lowered into the water in a ceremony attended by the owner, technical personnel, workers, and all the Benetti management and staff involved in building this magnificent vessel.
After the launch there was a private ceremony in Viareggio in order to celebrate the delivery with the owner and all his invited guests.
Luna measures 42 metres long with a nine-metre full beam and displaces 375 tonnes. The engines are twin Cat C32 Acers delivering 1081 kW. With a fuel reserve of 58,000 litres, Luna has a conventional oceanic range of some 4,000 miles.
She offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in five suites. A repartitioning of the lower deck made more space for four guests cabins - two with double beds and two with twin beds - and also much more crew space.
Like every Benetti mega yacht, this Crystal 140′ is one of a kind. Comfort, style and functionality characterize the numerous dining areas and lounges of the sun deck and upper deck. Large windows all round allow plenty of natural light into the interior. The stern area has been radically redesigned. The garage for tender, jet skis, and other equipment has been moved forward and to the side, allowing the entire stern to be dedicated as a beach club area, free of all mechanical equipment, outfitted with a changing room, a shower and a bathroom, a compact galley and several armchairs.
