Robin Wyatt , a veteren of the marine industry in Asia, launched a new dealership at the SeaEx Boat Show in Manila, Philippines, in April. The company, named Europa Yachts, has been awarded the exclusive dealership for Azimut, Beneteau (sail and power) and Lagoon catamarans for the Philippines. Wyatt was previously a top broker and dealer with Simpson Marine in Hong Kong, before moving to the Philippines. Wyatt feels that the Philippines, long considered a small market for yachts, now has potential, given the relatively fast growth of recent years adn new infrastructure projects.

"We offer strong local assistance, provide quality yachts, assist with the complications of delivering yachts to the Philippines and give our clients reassurance of strong local support to make that significant purchase," Wyatt said in a statement. Wyatt also points out that the Philippines offers a good alternative to crowded marinas in other parts of Asia, particuliarly Hong Kong. Excellent cruising grounds, low cost local crew and marina berths, cheap flights to and from the Philippines can all make it attractive to base your yacht in the Philippinesfor a period of time or even permanantly. "We can assist overseas owners and other collaborating dealers and brokers in keeping there boats here and we offer full support service and management" said Wyatt.

Wyatt has also established a Lagoon owner's club, which has worked out cruise-in-company trips to scenic places in Butsuanga and Palawan. "After so many years in Hong Kong I find it very enjoyable to now be based full time in the Manila and to be helping with the development of the pleasure boat industry in this beautiful country. "The recent SeaEx Boat Show on the waters of Manila Bay was a perfect venue to announce the launch of Europa Yachts, and I am also pleased to report that we currently have two Beneteau sailing yachts on order for clients here so I am very happy with our progress."
