The Taiwan government is about to open the country's second yacht wharf late this June at the Wushih fishing port. The 32-slip facility is operated under the government’s Council of Agriculture.
Chen Chun-ju, deputy director of the Fisheries Agency under the Council of Agriculture, said that the wharf was built with a budget US$8.36 million. It covers an area of about 14 hectares and can accommodate boats and yachts from 30 to 60 feet.
Chen said the only other yacht wharf in Taiwan is Bisha Port in Badouzi, Keelung. He added that a third wharf will open in Anping Harbor in Tainan within the next two months.
