Lee Marine, Phuket’s leading yacht broker, has announced the launch in Ancona, Italy, of its largest super yacht to date, a 34-metre Ferretti Custom Line 112’ NEXT destined for an owner based in Phuket, Thailand. This is Ferretti's debut into this very important Southeast Asia market with on of its logest selling modles in its Custome Line.
Capable of 28 knots and powered by twin 2800 horsepower MTU engines, the yacht, called Happy Days, was moved from the CRN shipyard on 9 July for the traditional champagne bottle launch witnessed by Lee Marine's Managing Director, Joshua Lee, Ferretti executives and the captain and crew. She will cruise comfortably at 23 knots.
The boat, which has five large en-suite guest cabins and a distinctive raised pilothouse to separate the owner and guests from normal operational activities, will undergo sea trials off Croatia and Montenegro and along the Italian coast before being transported to Asia and her eventual base in Phuket.
Lee commented: “In such a short time the shipyard have worked wonders. I'm proud to be a Ferretti Group distributor. The family atmosphere at Custom Line brings out the best in people. The production team is very motivated and friendly and this has resulted in a first class Custom Line 112’ NEXT produced on time and to the highest quality. I am really impressed."
Happy Days is the result of a collaboration between Studio Zuccon International Project and Ferretti's Advanced Yacht Technology and Design team. Interior spaces are voluminous with a 22-square metre cockpit, a 24-square metre main salon and even 11 square metres of galley space. Stern to bow windows provide ample natural light for the main deck and the owner's cabin, while four large open view windows at water level light up the guest cabins on the lower deck. The flybridge has a hard top, like that found on the 97', which provides areas of both sunshine and shade for optimal guest comfort. There is a large sun area with a barbecue, a fridge and a Jacuzzi and covered with sunpads.
Alessandro Tirelli, the Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Sales Director, who also attended the launch said: “Following an event in the Hainan Island, where we delivered our first Custom Line 112’ NEXT in China, today is another great day for the Ferretti Group, in particular the Asia Pacific team. Thailand is one of our most important markets in Asia Pacific. We are working strongly in this strategic area, with our dealer Lee Marine, to improve the Group’s presence. Happy Days is the first Custom Line 112’ NEXT delivered to Thailand. It is confirmation that the effort and hard work of Lee Marine are reaping rewards”
At the launch Captain Stuart Carter added: “We arrived in Ancona to take delivery of Happy Days and the crew and I received a very warm welcome, and were given the all the help, information and courtesy to make our time and transition extremely easy. Joshua Lee of Lee Marine has been a pleasure to work with and the help, assistance and direction from him and his staff has been greatly appreciated. To achieve what we have would have been very difficult without their help.”
The Custom Line 112’ NEXT, first launched in 2008, is a 34-meter planing yacht, over 7-meters wide. The hull and superstructure are built of multi-axis fibreglass, a composite material that offers great weight advantages, both as regards resistance and rigidity. The yacht can carry up to 20 people and four crew.
