Adding to its current offices in both Hong Kong and Shanghai, Jebsen Marine is opening a new office in Nansha in early August. They are currently looking at marinas in Hainan and hope to open a fourth office, probably in Sanya, towards years end. General Manager Lars Petersen is also looking at expanding the company’s presence in northern China through a network of dealers and has already signed with one dealer in Dalian, with whom they jointly exhibited at the recent Dalian Boat show. He plans to have eight dealers in place within the next three years.Besides concentrating on all the major coastal areas with marinas around China, Jebsen is also looking at having a presence in some of the inland waterways and lakes around China where it sees a good market for their Targa line of smaller 38-foot yachts. In a nice cross-branding touch, Petersen is offering a Porsche car with the purchase of a Fairline over a particular size. This promotional package relates to his 15 years on the Porsche side of Jebsen’s business, which he spearheaded on the Chinese mainland from 2004.
