Renowned New Zealand-based technical sailing gear manufacturer, Line 7 Marine, has been chosen as the official clothing partner for the Chinese sailing team, ChinaSpirit.
Line 7, which was founded in 1963, designs and makes technical and casual marine wear for sailors all over the world. It has supplied gear to sailors in the America’s cup, the Round the World Yacht races, the Olympic games, and many others.
ChinaSpirit, an exclusive multiplatform sailing team, is based in Shanghai and has been endorsed by the Chinese central government. As the government continues its support for marine tourism and infrastructure improvements in marina developments have occurred all over the country, this has lead to exciting times for the Chinese sailing team.
ChinaSpirit’s CEO Noëlle Smulders sees this as a perfect match pitting Line 7’s consistently high standards of design and innovation with ChinaSpirit’s strength in sports, innovation and leadership. They complement each other which makes for a win-win situation, she believes.
