Azimut Yachts have announced that they will hosting a special owners’ meeting at this year's China (Xiamen) International Boat Show, which is being held from November 8 to 11 at the Xiamen Marina in Wuyuan Bay.

Azimut first entered China in 2008 and has since developed five dealerships around the coastal areas of Shenzhen, Shanghai, Dalian, Qingdao and Xiamen. Based on its success in this area, the company decided to hold a special meeting of Azimut owners. Giovanna Vitelli, the daughter of the founder of the company, Poalo Vitelli, will spearhead the event.

Considerable effort has been made developing Xiamen and surrounding areas in Fujian province into one of the leading yachting markets in mainland China. This seems to be paying dividends as shown by the success of last year's Xiamen Boat Show which saw 135 exhibitors and some 40,000 plus visitors, which was in increase of 30 percent over the previous year. This year organisers are expecting in excess of 350 yachts on display in their 20,000-square-metre water display area. There is also 30,000 square metres of on-shore exhibition area this year.

As Giovanna Vitelli put it: “China is a very important market for global strategy development and since the Xiamen show is one of the most influential shows in China we decided to hold the event there.
