The 45th edition Southampton Boat Show, which ran from 13 to 22 September, closed on an upbeat note with some good sales and lots of interest and genuine enquiries. All this despite some typical English weather.

Good Sales Reported At Southampton Boat Show

Very nearly 112,000 visitors passed through the gates for this year’s event where nearly 1,000 vessels were on display. The show boasted over 600 exhibitors from 22 different countries.

A total of 120 boats debuted at the show. Of these, 29 were world debuts, 46 UK debuts, and two were European. Also on display were a wide range of engines, electronic equipment, marina services and other related accessories.

Confirmed sales included a Sunseeker 40M, two Fairline Squadron 78s, a Broom 35 Coupé, a Stingray 235 and four Merryfisher 755s.

The dates for next year’s event have already been set for 12 to 21 September 2014 and the show will also host the start of the Global Ocean Race. In the meantime, then next show on the UK boating calendar will be the London Boat Show from 11 to 19 January 2014.
