Maritime Asset Security and Training (MAST) Ltd, the maritime security and training specialist and Cantiere delle Marche (CdM), the luxury explorer yacht shipyard in Ancona, Italy, agreed the format for a working partnership at the Cannes Boat Show. MAST will exclusively supply full security services for CdM’s explorer yachts in a deal that will be signed at the Monaco Yacht Show.
Cantiere delle Marche builds 24-to-45-metre metal displacement and semi displacement yachts. Their Nauta Air and Darwin Class models are long range, transatlantic, all weather yachts. They are specifically designed for owners to explore new cruising grounds in safety and luxury. They will require additional security as they travel to more remote territories.
CdM yachts are custom built for each owner. MAST will provide and manage the security input during the initial design and specification stage, working alongside CdM designers to provide the owners with security services and on-board systems to stipulated criteria. MAST will supply security equipment controlled by its own software that is fully integrated with CdM’s sophisticated ships’ monitoring system. MAST will offer the owner and crew risk awareness, procedural training and advice covering various security scenarios.
After launch, MAST will form part of the extensive CdM after-care service providing the yacht with a monitoring, alert and response services, as well as intelligence reporting during passage planning, a dedicated 24/7 help line for assistance, advice on various country and port security protocols and, ultimately, response to any emergencies.
Security systems and equipment developed and supplied by MAST include: electronic keyless locks; central lock down system; gangway monitoring; deck sensors; smart CCTV; and remote access monitoring and alert systems that broadcast to VHF and iPhone.
The partnership forms part of MAST’s recently launched security umbrella service that supports shipyards and designers, and also offers superyacht grade security services, training and systems to the owners of smaller yachts from 16 to 40 metres.
MAST is currently working with CdM on two new builds under construction in its shipyard; an 86-foot Darwin Class and a Nauta Air 86.
