Numbers growing for Yacht CN 2013

The second edition of Yacht CN 2013, organized by the Nansha Marina and supported by the local government in promoting Nansha District as a newly developing coastal city of Guangzhou, will take place from 10 to 13 October.
Given time, Yacht CN is expected to become one of the largest on-water boat shows in Southern China. It features a full range of yachts, powerboats and sailboats from both local and international manufacturers and visitors will find an extensive selection of marine equipment, accessories, marina-related services and also luxury products the this ‘not-to-be-missed’ venue.
Nansha Marina occupies some 170,000 square metres, which includes the 130,000-square metre marina basin, a 8,000-square metre heavy equipment display space and the 9,000-square metre clubhouse. It also has haul-out services and a dry stack facility – the first of its kind in China.
Current data from the organisers reveals that over 1,000 square metres of on-land exhibition space and some 50 wet berths have already been booked. Overseas brands like Sunseeker, Fairline and Azimut are among exhibitors already signed up along with local brands such as Sunbird.
It has also been revealed that the pride of place at this year’s event will probably go to Adastra, the 42.5-metre power trimaran built by Chinese builder McConaghy.
Last year’s inaugural event saw some 15,000 visitors pass through the gates. This year organisers are expecting even larger interest as boating starts to take hold as a leisure activity amongst the growing Chinese middle class.
With its ideal location, right in the middle of one of the main boating areas of China, Nansha Marina is very well placed to host such a boat show. These are also interesting times as Chinese business starts to invest in leisure boat building such as the Chinese majority interests in such foreign brands as Sunseeker, Ferretti and the recently announced joint venture with Sanlorenzo.
