The 55-metre Galileo G, the second motor yacht from the Picchiotti line, is now cruising Indonesia and has plans to move on to Malaysia and the Philippines, before arriving in Hong Kong, likely in late November or early December, according to her captain, Jonny Smallridge. Galileo G was completed in 2011 and on display at the Monaco Yacht Show that year. Picchiotti is the motor yacht arm of the Perini Navi company, famous for their sailing superyachts. Galileo G has a prominent communications dome atop her aluminium superstructure and Ice-classed hull. She is the follow up yacht to the 50-metre Exuma, which has also been exploring the South Pacific and Southeast Asia and is available for charters. Galileo G is five metres longer than Exuma, but as the owner wanted a lot more space, the yacht comes in at 750 gross tonnage, for a big increase in volume. According to Galileo G’s captain, the cruising in Indonesia has been good and “very diverse”, with the area around Bali a particular favourite. The superyacht has also called in the Philippines and Sabah.
