Elandra Yachts, headquartered on Queensland’s Gold Coast, has passed a major milestone in the development of its first model, a sports yacht, the Elandra 5.

She will be a semi-custom sports yacht designed with three cabins and two bathrooms on the lower deck. The main deck level comprises an entertainment area with a spacious galley and six-seat dinette. There is a large cockpit aft with an eight-seat dining area on the starboard side. To port side is a five-seat, forward-facing lounge.

The plugs for the deck, hardtop and liners are already complete and ready for moulding, which should begin within days. Once this is complete the hull will be prepared for moulding. All moulding for this yacht will be completed in time for the Christmas break.

There was much excitement at the yard when the hardtop was removed and painting began to prepare the hardtop and deck for moulding and everyone got a glimpse of the final form and shape and could see what the boat will eventually look like. She is on track for her mid-2014 launch date.
