Horizon Yachts has announced the establishment of a new Yacht Management and Concierge Service for its Taiwanese owners. The company noted that as the number of Taiwanese owners grows, so does the need for an infrastructure that accommodates the owners and their desire to experience the yachting lifestyle. Horizon’s Yacht Management and Concierge Service aims to let owners take advantage of a number of amenities, such as private marina slips in Taipei and Kaohsiung, periodic maintenance checks and yacht cleanings, and mapping and provisioning for cruising trips. Horizon noted that one of the most popular destinations so far has been Dapeng Bay, located in southern party of Taiwan and only 30 minutes from downtown Kaohsiung; Dapeng Bay currently offers berthing near Oyster Island and an F2 car race field and will soon open a brand-new Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The announcement follows on from growing interest in luxury boating by the island's high net worth individuals, who have only had access to such activities on their home island for the past few years. Infrastructure remains fairly limited, though it is growing.
