Project Graceful finally in the water

The latest yacht to be built by Blohm+Voss, under the project name GRACEFUL, is finally in the water. She recently her building dock and is being prepared for sea trials. These will take place this coming December and delivery is scheduled for the end of December.
It was back in May 2012 that the yacht’s hull was towed by tugs to Blohm+Voss and left in Dock 6 at the Hamburg-based shipyard for completion and final fit out, For the following 18 months the yard has been busy styling the boat both inside and out to the design of H2 Yachts Design in close cooperation with the owner and also Dörries Maritime Services.
The owner chose Blohm+Voss to complete his yacht for a variety of reasons but chiefly because of the complexity of the design and some of the specified equipment, like the 15 by 3-metre indoor swimming pool, which can be quickly converted to a dance floor by raising the pool floor.
The owner’s suite is a duplex with direct access to the sea via a folding balcony. A further two VIP cabins and three guest suites provide accommodations for up to 10 guests.
With a top speed of 17.6 knots and an ocean-crossing range of 5,500 nautical miles, this impressive yacht is 82 metres LOA and has an ample beam of 13.9 metres.
