Southern Wind to soon launch Grande Orazio

The Southern Wind shipyard in South Africa is working furiously to complete the outfitting of the 24.7-metre sailing yacht Grande Orazio. The is the second hull in its SW82 mini-series and launch is expected in early January 2014.
Grande Orazio was designed to be both a high performance yacht capable of competing in the world’s leading offshore regattas as well as doubling as a comfortable family cruising yacht.
She boasts a flush deck layout and sporty coach-roof, giving her a very sleek profile. She comes with sail area of 248 square metres and is fitted with high modulus Southern Spars carbon mast and boom, EC6 carbon rigging, carbon foil furler, racing winches, a racing removable bow sprit and a 4.2-metre keel draft. Her main engine is a MO 190hp@3500rpm from Steyr Motors of Austria .
