Phuket-based Yacht Solutions, whose main businesses are superyacht refit and service support, has decided to develop a superyacht charter business as well, appointing Bryony Dalby-Ball to head up the expanded Superyacht Services division. In making the announcement, Yacht Solutions noted that Dalby-Ball has been in the yachting industry for 15 years, having worked at nearly all aspects, from stewardess to racing crew to yacht management. The announcement comes just ahead of the start of the charter season for Phuket, which sees superyachts from around the world converging on the island province of Thailand.

Yacht Solutions has maintained a superyacht services division alongside its refit division, with the two arms often complementing each other. According to the company, last season saw more superyachts using their agency services than ever before. Though some have requested refit work, others enquired about charter management and brokerage services as well, prompting the decision to set up a charter division. Yacht Solutions currently have two superyachts in the Bangkok shipyard undergoing major refit work.

“Bryony Dalby-Ball has come onboard to oversee both sections of the business. There is a synergy between yacht agency and charter as we can act as their shore side support,” said Tamsin Edenbrow, PR and marketing director for Yacht Solutions. She added that the company had seen an increase in the number of charter yachts in Phuket and that demand has also increased. “All in all, it seemed like a natural progression for our company.” Yacht Solutions is pushing forward (with its) superyacht charter license in Thailand, and with this in place, Edenbrow expects that the charter business will develop even more.
