During the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show IAG Yachts revealed details of its latest project, a new 40-metre superyacht in their Noble House series.

The Zhuhai-based shipyard, in Southern China, confirmed that it is building this boat, to be called Serenity, for an experienced and discerning new US-based client who began negotiating with the yard some four years ago after viewing the 39-metre Primadonna at the Miami Boat Show.

He currently owns an American-built boat, which is now for sale and is a very keen charterer. This is apparently reflected in much of the design of the new vessel which is being handled by UK-based designer Evan K Marshall. He has provided many unusual interior, exterior and technological details to help meet the specifications required. Not much other information is being released at the moment but further details are expected to be revealed in January. One teaser was that this yacht will have an enclosed bay window style balcony, something totally new to yacht design.
The composite hull for the new vessel was de-moulded in August and the build is proceeding well with delivery scheduled for late in 2014.
