The Cosmo 50 Explorer I-Nova

The owner of Alizul Finance Corporation Ltd. had been looking to build an exploration yacht for a long while. Between 2008 and 2010 several efforts to contract out the contstruction proved fruitless mainly for techno-economic reasons. In 2010, he met naval architect Dimitris Bales and designer Cristiano Gatto of Cristiano Gatto Design Team Srl. This led to the establishment of the new company and the birth of the Cosmo 50 Explorer.
The first Cosmo Explorer, a bold and confident superyacht called I-Nova, was recently launched in Greece. She is a 50-metre Ice Class explorer motoryacht boasting an elegant but robust style. The Italian design team from Cristiano Gatto Design designed both her interiors and exteriors.
I-Nova oozes self-confidence through her strong lines, grey steel hull and white aluminium superstructure. Her 9.5-metre beam and spacious decks give her that aura of openness and her wide and uncluttered decks enhance that feeling of unrestricted space.
She is that reliable partner for cruising to any place on Earth in perfect comfort and impeccable style. She provides spacious and luxurious comfort for up to 12 guests surrounded by lush and robust materials in all-natural colours.
Upon stepping aboard, one instantly notices the overall sense of sophistication and hospitality, the result of a custom design job by Cristiano Gatto’s design team, using all natural materials and vibrant natural colours. The sense of spaciousness is immediate and powerful, starting with the main saloon. Here there is a high contrast of colours in chocolate, cream and honey giving this room a sophisticated and refined look. It is tastefully furnished with large sofas and poufs in light upholstery, luxurious sofas in dark leather, textured bamboo wicker ceiling panels, curvy modern coffee tables and luscious off-white carpeting, all of which spell out good taste.
Large panoramic windows extend the compete length of the salon on both sides letting in plenty of natural light. This not only extenuates the volume of this space but also turns it into and ideal place for guests to relax on long cruises when they are not taking advantage of the spacious exteriors that are so abundant onboard this vessel or out on the water.
A formal dining area forward and a very chic little bar aft turn this area on the main deck into an ideal spot for relaxing and socializing between guests and owners. Beautiful framed artworks and photographs added final “je ne sais quoi” element.
Further spacious relaxing is afforded on the large aft deck with a large curvy sofa as the centrepiece with round chairs and a large oval table to complement it. A large beach club with an enormous swimming platform is easily accessible from this part of the aft deck.
Forward from the main salon is the guest lobby with the beautifully appointed master suite further forward of that. This section exudes a real sense of privacy and coziness with plentiful natural daylight filtering in through the large windows. This highlights the rich textures and luxurious materials which the designers have used to portray the ultimate in cruising luxury aboard an adventure yacht.
The master’s suite comprises a lobby and full-beam stateroom, exquisite his and hers en suites, a steam room and loads of wardrobe and storage space. From the lobby, a private staircase leads to the owner’s lounge on the upper deck with its stunning 180-degree panoramic views through full-height windows facing forward as well as to port and starboard. It is distinctly elegant and inviting.
This luxurious salon includes a small office area, a lounge and a games area. It is a very zen-like area for the owner, his family and invited guests to kick back and relax in perfect comfort and style.
Past the owner’s lounge and the guest lobby and aft on the upper deck is the sky lounge. Decked out in Kauri wood, teak, wengé and bamboo, this is an area of distinguished elegance. Chocolate, honey and cream set the tone, while the large L-shaped sofa and big poufs set the scene. Large surrounding windows, glass sliding doors and a big flat screen television complete the look and feel.
The aft deck astern of the sky lounge is used to store the tenders, jet skis, and additional equipment or water toys. When these items are in the water this area can be easily transformed into a sunbathing area or venue for parties.
All of I-Nova's deck spaces are extremely open and spacious. The main, upper and bridge’s aft decks are all open and airy with wide and spacious side decks. The bridge deck is specially designed for sunbathing and lounging. There is a very secluded L-shaped lounge with coffee tables that can easily be converted for al fresco dining. A large bimini provides ample shade to the area when required. Even further aft and down some short stairs is a panoramic sun deck that combines a big Jacuzzi and sun pads fore and a covered area aft that can be used as an outside gym or exercise area.
I-Nova offers a great selection of guest accommodation possibilities. There is a spacious VIP stateroom with en suite and big wardrobe, located on the upper deck. Four other guest suites, two doubles and two twins, are located amidships on the lower deck. Each of these suites has a luxurious stateroom and its own en suite with large shower area. All these cabins are equally well appointed but with their own unique style. The boat’s thick bulkheads insulate these quarters from all exterior sound for tranquil relaxation and added privacy.
I-Nova truly is a truly superb superyacht full of gracious modern style and offering both extreme luxury and comfort but with the strength and robustness to accomplish what she was designed for, exploration. She is a masterpiece of design and modern engineering.
