Yamaha, the Japanese boat and engine builder, has announced that it plans to open its first boat-rental club outside of Japan in early December this year. The Yamaha Marine Club Sea-Style will be located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
Yamaha Marine Club Sea-Style is a boat-rental club that provides members with access to high-quality Yamaha boats without having to worry about maintenance or mooring fees. After an initial membership fee of $210, members pay a monthly fee of $31.50. The 140 Sea-Style marinas in Japan range from as far north as Hokkaido to the southern island of Kyushu, providing richly diverse regional experiences throughout the country. Club boats, which are replaced every three years, are well maintained and insured, enabling members to confidently choose the model best suited to their needs. There are currently some 16,000 members.
The new location at Ocean Sports & Rentals Hawaii will have 25-foot centre-console boats equipped with Yamaha F115 outboard motors rented at a rate of $450 for three hours. It is located about 30 minutes from the Honolulu International Airport on Oahu’s west coast at a place called Ko Olina or Place of Joy on the leeward side of the island.
Members will be able to rent the boats at the Oahu marina as well as Yamaha’s 140 marinas in Japan as Yamaha Motor continues to expand its network of marinas both in Japan and overseas. It aims to increase its membership by enhancing the premium status and convenience of the services it provides.
Hisashi Uemuru, the CEO of Ocean Sports & Rentals, says that rentals will begin on 5 December.
