Mondo Marine Owners Alessandro Falciai and Roberto Zambrini are investing in Guangfu Zhang’s company, Sease Yachting Co., to jointly build Mondo Marine motor yachts in Jiangsu, China. Mondo Marine also opened a new office recently in Monaco.
The Mondo Marine fibreglass boats will be produced in the Sease shipyard, with support from Mondo Marine Engineering. The first models will have lengths of 16.15 metres, 18.90m and 26.80m.
Sease Yachting, founded in 2007, has collaborated with superyacht designers Bill Dixon of Britain and Dutch firm Cor D. Rover to develop yachts for the Mainland Chinese market. The company has launched three models – the Sease 46, 53 and 62. Since 2010, the company has built 14 of the Sease 53 yachts and seven of the Sease 62 line. The first Sease 46 was delivered recently.
Mondo Marine’s engineering team will oversee the production of the Mondo Marine yachts. The existing 53’ and 62’ yachts will be restyled with an Italian touch and Mondo Marine will design a new 88’ yacht. The joint venture’s first yachts are expected to launch in early 2015.
