Tahiti Event To Benefit Red Cross Charity
Published: Monday, 12 May 2014
Learn about Pacific yachting destinations and help those in need at the same time. Red Cross is teaming up with AYSS (Association of Yacht Support Services) and APS (Asia Pacific Superyachts) in Tahiti on June 24. The event, PacificNet, will be held in Tahiti at Marina Taina in Papeete, the home of APS Tahiti Ocean Office.
Captains and Crew are invited to bring donations of clothing, food and non-alcoholic beverages to help families in need. Donations will be accepted all day.
Tahiti is one of the best cruising areas in the Pacific. The region has 118 islands spread over an area larger than Continental Europe. The location offers thousands of secure anchorages including Nuka Hiva, the largest of the Marquesas and the site of Herman Melville’s novel Typee.
Heading up the APS Tahiti team, Etienne Boutin says his company was the first service company exclusively dedicated to the luxury yacht industry. It has served more than 600 motor and sailing yachts over 100 feet.
