SWATH Electra Glide Limousine Tender Debuts

The SWATH (small waterplane area twin hull) Electra Glide Limousine Tender is the world’s first carbon neutral solar hybrid megayacht tender. It combines the environmental benefits of solar electric sustainability with the comfort of an anti-roll SWATH vessel. It was designed by Sauter Carbon Offset Design (SCOD) and built by NEDSHIP in carbon epoxy.
Powered by twin 300hp Regen Electric outboards the tender’s maximum speed is 45 knots. The vessel is virtually silent and extremely efficient throughout its entire speed range. At 8 knots the 50kwh Li Po Batteries give the tender a zero carbon range of up to 40 nautical miles. The 20kw a day solar panels produce up to 7Mws annually, which at 16 knots is enough energy to travel more than 1,000 carbon neutral nautical miles.
Inside, there is 2-metre standing height and fully equipped galley and bar allowing for easy day trips. The tender is also able to beach in remote locations because of its SWATH design.
The 12-passenger limo tender comes with air conditioning that provides both cooling and heating.
“The SWATH Electra Glide Tender takes us to an era of responsible luxury yachting, where zero carbon solar power is a standard requirement and anti-roll, full standing spaciousness is taken for granted,” says Richard Sauter, head of design.
NEDSHIP, one of the leading shipyards worldwide in composite constructions, enters the e-boat market to combine the advantage of lightweight construction methods with environmentally friendly e-propulsion systems.
