Following the success of McConaghy Boats up and down the East Coast of Australia, there have been numerous wins on Chinese made boats coming out of Europe. The McConaghy built, Reichel Pugh Design, Cape Fling won the IRC 0 Division at the Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes. Irvine Laidlaw dominated the extremely competitive fleet winning the regatta by a 13-point margin.

In Palma, Majorca, at the 33rd Cop Del Rey Regatta, the fight for the title in Gaastra Class IRC 0 was fierce throughout the week, with George Sakellaris’ Mini Maxi Shockwave fighting to the bitter end to emerge on top with three points to spare. This adds to a fantastic year for the Reichel/Pugh Design after winning this year’s Newport-Bermuda Race and the Caribbean 600.

Previous year’s winners at the Copa Del Ray have included the McConaghy built TP52 All4One (Judel-Vrolijk) and Neville Crichton with Shockwave.

Back in Australia the MC38 Class have been enjoying the lay day at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week. After three days of racing, Leslie Green's Ginger over took early leader Vino skippered by Chris Hancock, claiming boat of the day after winning all of day two's races. As always with the MC38 Class, racing is extremely close with positions changing down to the last second.
