This year’s silver jubilee edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup attracted a large number of majestic Maxi yachts to Porto Cervo, Italy, including two yachts from Claasen Shipyards.

As the first of the F-class yachts, Firefly won four of the five races against her Supermaxi rivals Inoui and Viriella. Firefly also won the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in June, in Porto Cervo.

The battle of the J-class boats has been incredibly close all season. Lionheart‘s owner was delighted with this latest victory in Port Cervo. Having spent five days going head-to-head with Ranger, Rainbow and Velsheda, there was only one point between the first three at the end.

Claasen is building a Truly Classic 126 and a Truly Classic 90 in its yard in Zaandam (NL). These yachts will be ready to compete on the race circuit next summer.
