Luxury trawler yacht specialists, Nordhavn Europe, presented a 50,000-mile distance pennant to Richard and Lorna Maybin, owners of the Spirit of Ulysses, at the PSP Southampton Boat Show.

The Maybin’s forward pilothouse Nordhavn 76, the largest Nordhavn model ever to be exhibited at a European show, is on display at Southampton Sept 12-21. She has cruised over 51,000 nautical miles in the last seven years, based mainly in the Pacific, but has also done a transatlantic crossing.

Nordhavn’s Distance Pennant Programme was created to recognise the accomplishments of the many Nordhavn owners who travel the world’s oceans enjoying the adventures of a lifetime. The average miles travelled by members of the programme is a little under half of a circumnavigation for each registered owner.

“It was a real pleasure to be able to present this award to two of our most exemplary customers,” says Neil Russell, Director at Nordhavn Europe. “Our customers have a wide range of uses for their Nordhavns – from cruising coastlines to sailing the world – all in maximum comfort, safety and convenience. Not everyone wants to cross oceans like Richard and Lorna have done, but with a Nordhavn you can if you want to.”
