Renowned Dutch submersible manufacturer U-Boat Worx has launched its ultra-compact two-person HP Sport Sub 2, a high-performance submersible ready to fit on board any superyacht. It can even be towed behind a car.
According to Founder and Chairman Bert Houtman, this remarkable submersible design is “suitable for all superyachts from 30 metres and up”. The luxury submersible has a 100-metre (330ft) depth rating and weighs only 2,200 kg. It has a height of 136cm (53 inches) and superb performance.
“The design is attractive, but above all safe and functional,” says Houtman. "We've adopted a very different look compared to traditional submersibles, but without compromising safety and ease of use -- the ability to easily board the craft at the surface, for example."
The result is a modern and streamlined submersible with fantastic performance. Whether at the surface or underwater, its speed and manoeuvrability are exceptional. Although this “subsea-Ferrari" was designed principally to maximise the excitement of diving, U-Boat Worx has created a full-fledged submersible.
The U-Boat Worx HP Sport Sub 2 costs €1 million and production models are scheduled for delivery in autumn 2015.
