Australia's Soldiers Point Marina Earns Environmental Re-Accreditation
Published: Friday, 28 November 2014
Soldiers Point Marina, in Port Stephens NSW, remains the only marina on Australia’s eastern seaboard to achieve the prestigious international Level 4 ISO 14001 Clean Marinas Program status, following the recent successful completion of the rigorous annual reaccreditation process.
The independently audited reaccreditation ensures that the 2013-2014 Australian Marina of the Year has maintained the world standard for marina environmental management practices.
The initiative forms part of the Marina Industries Association’s Clean Marinas Program. In 2012 Soldiers Point Marina achieved the highest level possible – Level 4 (ISO 14001) – world standard for environmental management systems.
“As one of very few marinas in Australia to achieve this highest level of accreditation, our reaccreditation demonstrates how seriously we take our environmental responsibilities at Soldiers Point Marina,” says Marina General Manager Darrell Barnett.
