The First Phase of the Marina Completion Ceremony was held by Macau Legend Development at the Harbourview Hotel Nov 15. A boat show, with 12 boats on display, was held at Fisherman’s Wharf in Macau Nov 13-16 as part of the event.
Macau Legend Development celebrated the end of construction for the new hotel as well as the completion of the first phase of the Marina renovations at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.
Nearly 500 guests attended the ceremony, among them the Director of Macau Government Tourist Office, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, representatives from the exhibition, logistics, retail services industries, major boat manufacturers and retailers, several Small Medium Enterprises owners as well as management from Macau Legend Development. Guests enjoyed a guided tour of the hotel and attended a lively gala by the Marina.
“As a local business, Macau Legend Development has actively responded to the objective of the Macau SAR Government to diversify the economy by introducing new and different types of tourism,” says Macau Legend Development CEO David Chow. “Harbourview Hotel will be able to supplement the shortage of hotel rooms in the Macau Peninsula, bolstering tourism capacity to attract tourists to the history-filled Penninsula.”
Harbourview Hotel is a four-star hotel modelled after the architectural style of 18th century Prague. It includes 389 rooms and 55 suites, bars, restaurants, a swimming pool, a gym and retail shops.
12 yachts were also on display in the Marina for public viewing. The first phase of the Macau Fisherman's Wharf Marina features 18 berths that can accommodate up to 40-metre long yachts, made with high-grade shock-absorbing pontoons imported from France. The second phase of the Marina development will increase the number of berths as well as decrease wave motion.
