The project for the 42-metre steel and aluminium yacht designed by Alberto Mancini was presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2013.

The Group was not looking for an alternative to the Maxi Open yachts it is known for when it decided to enter a market segment other than long-range yachts. Rather, the Group wanted to seize an opportunity as it had the technical and managerial skills necessary to do so.

The Overmarine Group Announces The Sale Of Mangusta Oceano 42

“This sale marks an important step for our shipyard and for our ocean-going vessels line,” says Francesco Frediani, Group Commercial Director. “This is a segment in which we believe we can play a key role and become a leader, as indeed we believe we already are in the Maxi Open segment. This beautiful ship is already under construction in our Pisa facilities and we’re looking forward to admiring her sail the oceans of the world.”

This yacht is elegant with proportions that feature a mixture of taut, sharp lines and softer sections. On board, light was studied carefully and a new concept devised, which provides for two innovative areas: on the deck at bow the external area has been created with two distinct places for sunbathing that plunge into a swimming pool with an infinity-style waterfall. A glazed skylight at the bottom of the swimming pool brings light and translucence into the master suite head on the underlying bridge.

Astern, on the other hand, the tailgate has glazed cross cuts, which provide glimpses through to a fully furnished beach area. Once open, it stretches out over the sea, creating a platform where the glazed surfaces become a source of natural light which lets the nocturnal illumination of the underwater lights set aft filter through.

The interior is designed to accommodate up to 12 guests and seven crewmembers, ensuring maximum privacy. Here, everything is linked to the external area: there are huge windows in the saloon through which natural light comes. In the other areas transparent glazing brings light to the various spaces making them seem bigger.

The success of this sale comes from the knowledge and reputation of the Balducci family, who have been building yachts for 30 years, and from the ability of the Overmarine Group team to anticipate market demands by creating quality products, which correspond perfectly to the owner’s wishes.
