Stylo International, along with title presenter Mercedes Benz, known for organising the annual Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion Grand Prix – a support event of the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix – has added nautical endeavours into its lifestyle division. Stylo International introduced its maritime subsidiary, Reissiger Marine (RM) to handle boat shows, maritime events and boat trading at a media-only event in Langkawi held Mar 25-28.
In addition, RM has been given exclusive rights to run Boatshed Asia, the world’s largest yacht brokerage based in the UK, with representatives in more than 60 countries, and over 20,000 boats sold. The company is currently looking for more representatives in Asian countries to assist with boat sales.
“The maritime scene especially in Malaysia is thriving and has a lot of growth potential in the fast growing East Asia marine market,” says Neil Chapman, Founder of Boatshed. “We are enthusiastic about our partnership with Reissiger Marine to welcome Boatshed Asia, which will definitely please many within the maritime fraternity here.”
A poolside BBQ dinner was held at Dr Peter Worm’s private villas beside the The Datai luxury resort, which hosted the media during their stay in Langkawi.
President and CEO of Stylo International Nancy Yeoh was joined by President and CEO of Mercedes Benz Malaysia, Roland Folger and shoe couturier and Honorary Advisor to Stylo International, Jimmy Choo. Asia-Pacific Boating magazine's Editor-in-Chief Glen Watson also attended the event.
Stylo II The Shabby Chic boasts not only impressive technical capabilities but also designs made, assembled and designed in Malaysia.
“A lot of thought has been put into creating the interior of Stylo II in trademark Stylo style, which is lush, over the top shabby chic, in line with the fashion anarchy theme, complete in its signature colours of black and red,” says Yeoh.
“We are happy to announce the inclusion of two top designers on board Stylo II The Shabby Chic, which are Zang Toi, Malaysian international designer, who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of his fashion label, House of Toi at our press conference last week, and Bon Zainal, our first menswear designer to win the coveted Designer of the Year last year.”
Throughout the festival the Stylo II boat The Shabby Chic was the highlight of the fashion exhibition.
