The President of the Marina Industries Association (MIA) Andrew Chapman presented Gerard Hua and senior management of Sanya Serenity Marina Club in Hainan, China with Gold Anchor accreditation in front of more than 100 club members.

Sanya Serenity Marina Receives Gold Anchor Award

“Sanya Serenity Marina has achieved the highest possible rating, five Gold Anchors, for its excellent facilities and services,” says Chapman. “It joins an elite group of marinas that have achieved this prestigious status, including Jumeirah Beach Hotel Marina Dubai; IGY Rodney Bay Marina West Indies; Palmarina Bodram Marina Turkey; Soldiers Point Marina Australia and Keppel Bay Marina Singapore.”

Sanya Serenity Marina is the first Gold Anchor marina in Hainan. The marina has 325 berths and a large hardstand serviced by a 100-tonne travel lift along with extensive club member facilities.

“Gold Anchor marinas are independently audited and in this instance the auditor commented [that] Sanya Serenity Marina management and customer service is offered at the highest possible standard,” Chapman says. “As a result the marina is a most suitable flag bearer of five Gold Anchor standards in China.”

The MIA delivers Gold Anchor accreditation exclusively across the Asian region. MIA recently signed an agreement with The Yacht Harbour Association based in London to deliver the International Gold Anchor Marina Rating Scheme to marinas across the globe. The Gold Anchor Rating Scheme has been devised to encourage the development service standards at marinas and to promote rated marinas to the boating public.
