The decision has been taken in order to reaffirm Azimut Yachts’ leadership in Asia. The opening of Azimut Yachts Sales and Service Offices with a partner fully committed and focused on Azimut Yachts only, will help the Italian shipyard to provide all-around assistance from the purchase of a yacht to a dedicated after sales services.
This partnership has been chosen on a continuity perspective: Woo and Azimut already have a very successful relationship together, having supplied several large Azimut Grande Yachts, the flagship collection in the Azimut Yachts Range, for influential clients in Hong Kong in recent years.

The new offices will be based in Aberdeen Harbour, on the South side of Hong Kong, and from this waterside location can offer advice and assistance on Azimut Yachts, servicing, berthing, licensing and registration.
In order to assure the best possible service, the team will be joined by a dedicated Azimut Service Manager who is relocating from Italy to Hong Kong.

“Azimut Yachts is the number-one yacht brand across Asia and I am thrilled by our new exclusive partnership,” says Woo. “Azimut design and the stunning Italian styling lead the industry and the Azimut quality and features are second to none.”
Azimut Yachts Sales Director Marco Valle, commented the new partnership: “It’s our main goal to maintain the leadership built in the Far East over the last 30 years. In order to achieve this, it was necessary for a strategic change to enhance our local presence. In line with Azimut Yachts Thailand and Azimut Yachts Indonesia, we have managed to find the best local partner also in Hong Kong. Together we will provide our customers with top quality services and expertise.”
The past year has seen Azimut launch Azimut Yachts Indonesia and Azimut Yachts Thailand expanding the brand’s presence in the South East Asia market. Azimut New Zealand also opened recently. The upcoming launch of new local partnerships Azimut Yachts Hong Kong and Azimut Yachts Singapore mark the next chapter in Azimut’s market distribution partnership strategy.
By establishing Azimut Yachts offices across the region that are exclusively branded, the new partnership strategy will see Azimut further develop the ability to provide all-around assistance from the purchase of a yacht to dedicated after-sales services.
For the past 28 years, Simpson Marine has been the exclusive dealer in much of Asia for Azimut Yachts - a partnership that has seen both companies grow and prosper. The companies have mutually agreed to part ways due to changing business strategies. Azimut Yachts is focused on a new single-brand partnership strategy, while Simpson Marine is committed to growing as a multi-brand dealer.
“Simpson Marine is one of Azimut Yachts’ historical partners who, for almost 30 years, has been working with us in this huge and complex market,” says Valle. “Simpson Marine has been a real ambassador for Azimut in Asia for decades and I want to personally thank Mr Mike Simpson as he has played a key role in building Azimut’s reputation as the number-one luxury yacht brand in the Asian market. Our strategy moving forward is to set up new dealership network based on local partnerships fully committed and focused on Azimut Yachts only, in order to give to our customers the best service and yachting experience. We are convinced that this is the key to succeeding and reconfirming our leadership in Asia.”
Simpson Marine Managing Director Mike Simpson says he is proud to have represented Azimut Yachts in Asia for almost three decades. “While our business strategies no longer align, I am confident that we will both continue to grow and develop as leading brands in the Asian yachting industry,” he says. “We will continue to share our common values of quality, excellence and commitment to the industry.”
Azimut Yachts was the first Western shipyard to establish representation in China in the late 80s and credits Simpson Marine for helping to build the brand within the Asian market.
