The X-Yachts Gold Cup, a biennial flagship event, will be held in Tuborg Havn, Copenhagen, Denmark (July 15-18).
The event offers four days of racing and social events. This year 12 nationalities will be competing across five classes, coming from neighbouring countries as well as Israel, Australia and Canada.
The official ISAF recognised X-35 World Championship marks the start of the event on July 15 where the boats will be taking to Øresund waters for the first of four days of highly competitive racing. Competition in this class includes the two Finnish Audi X-35s: AUDI e-tron and AUDI Ultra skippered by Teemu Kekkonen and Samuli Leisti who are often seen on the international circuits.
The Family, Sports and 50+ Classes will start on Thursday July 16 on a separate course in the same area as the X-35 World Championships.
A number of well-respected sailors will be present at the Gold Cup including the Royal Danish Yacht Club Commodore and former World Champion of the 3/4 Ton and One Ton Cups Lars Ive.
In addition to racing, several social events will be taking place every evening including the Carlsberg Opening Ceremony on Wednesday July 15 and the Gala Prize Giving on Saturday July 18.
