Published: Friday, 14 August 2015
An expansion of lifestyle offerings at the 2016 Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) event sees an unmatched display of automobile brands. Joining Ferrari, making its debut at the event, are Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Aston Martin, BMW and Mini in what is set to be an impressive and expanded auto line-up.
The 13th PIMEX show is set to commence early January 7-10 at the Royal Phuket Marina in Phuket, Thailand.
With 80% of the in-water space already full, show organisers are in discussions to expand the area further to allow for the increased interest from dealers, brokers, charter companies and superyacht agents. A number of leading brands secured their spaces on the back of a successful 2015 show.
A first for the show, organisers will be offering a dedicated superyacht section at the show for yachts over 35-metres. A reception lounge for owners and agents to meet and greet invited guests interested in chartering or purchasing superyachts will be created in one of the luxury villas from where potential customers will be transferred by luxury tender to see the superyachts on display.
In the exhibition hall and along the marina boardwalk a selection of fine wines and craft beers will be displayed, as well as an extensive range of premium whiskies and cigars.
Luxury villas and residences will give visitors some unique lifestyle and investment opportunities and the island's booming health and wellness industry is present and lead by Thanyapura Phuket. The world-class sports training and coaching facility will be promoting their 300 million baht expansion plan that will significantly further strengthen its status as the leading ‘Sports Hub of Asia.’
The British International School, Phuket will be promoting the MissionShip project (IXDOS) to build a ship to carry a clinic with medical staff to remote islands of the world where children are not vaccinated against preventable diseases.
The international visitor marketing campaign is already underway with a focus on regional countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, together with targeted markets in Europe and the USA.
Phuket's status as the superyacht hub of Asia is furthered with a 12-month superyacht charter license soon to be introduced. Organisers of the Phuket event can confirm they will be hands-on in supporting this initiative.
