Born from the vision of Chairman of the Italian Sea Group Giovanni Costantino and Vartan Sirmakes owner and co-founder of prestigious watchmaker Franck Muller comes the Franck Muller Yachts. The newest of the collaboration, the Franck Muller Yacht 55 Open launched at a private ceremony at the Italian Sea Group’s headquarters in Marina di Carrar, Italy.
The 16.5-metre FMY 55 is a sophisticated project, all designed to meet the expectations of demanding owners looking for a luxurious and stylish yacht, with excellent reliability and practicality at the same time.
There are plenty of areas all dedicated to relaxation and sunbathing, aft, forward and within the cockpit. The deck forward is fulfilled with cushions and it provides a sunbathing area normally found on much bigger yachts. The aft areas also benefit from a covering sunshade system consisting of a custom Franck Muller branded canvas and carbon poles.
The FMY 55 will be also available with the hard top version where the cockpit area becomes enclosed, with opening hard top and opening side windows.
The design is the result of the partnership between The Italian Sea Group 'Centro Stile' and its Art Director Gian Marco Campanino and the Franck Muller design team.
The FMY 55 design will be always well recognizable. The exterior design features a large use of LED lights throughout the length of the yacht, following the new automotive logics.
The same logic continues and it’s even more evident below deck, where the luxury found is normally typical of a superyacht. The first 55 launched features an interior layout with a master cabin forward (with ensuite bathroom) and a convertible lounge (again with ensuite bathroom), which can be completely separated from the galley.
The FMY 55’ also includes an optional crew cabin placed between the guest interiors and the engine room. Alternatively this area can be provided with a storage and laundry area, as on the first yacht launched.
The interiors feature subtle details and precious materials, including fine ebony wood, ten different kinds of leather hand-woven in many different ways, stainless steel, lightweight marbles, liquid bronze panels, custom carpets, inlaid teak floors and precious wall papers creating a unique blend which delivers a warm, modern, elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.
The newest addition to the range features a great amount of technology onboard. The boat is built in composite in order to guarantee both lightness and stiffness. The standard engine configuration includes two Volvo Penta engines with IPS systems allowing for manoeuvrability and low consumption.
This uniqueness of the FMY 55, goes beyond 55 feet, as the Franck Muller Yachts will range up to 108 feet, with a 68 and an 80 footer in the middle.
The first Franck Muller Yachts 55 will be officially unveiled during the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show (Sept 23-26) followed by its American premiere at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (Nov 5-9).
