MIA President Andrew Chapman CMM explained that Royal Phuket Marina demonstrated a strong customer service focus that is central to the philosophy of the Gold Anchor Scheme.

“As part of the independent audit process marina users are phone surveyed,” says Chapmann. “The feedback relating to Royal Phuket Marina staff service was of the highest order.”

Chairman of Royal Phuket Marina Gulu Lalvani said it was an honour to maintain the highest possible rating for another three-year period.

“The team at Royal Phuket Marina are committed to ensuring we run a professional facility,” says Lalvani. “We pride ourselves in maintaining very positive relationships with all users of the marina.”

Royal Phuket Marina is located in a protected waterway with high quality land side facilities including restaurants and a bakery, a large modern health club with floodlit tennis courts and health food cafe, as well as accommodation and underground car parking.

A significant investment is underway to further upgrade the hard stand facilities and for the construction of a 100-berth dry stack.

“All participating marinas, no matter what rating, benefit from valuable feedback through the audit process,” says MIA Executive Officer Colin Bransgrove. “It may be as simple as a recommendation for a better marina trolley through to ways to improve an environmental management plan. The strong focus on customer service is also valuable and this includes ‘mystery shopper’ feedback provided to participating marinas during the three-year rating period.”

The MIA delivers Gold Anchor accreditation exclusively across the Asian region. The Gold Anchor Rating Scheme has been devised to encourage the development of service standards at marinas and to promote the benefits of Gold Anchor rated marinas to the boating public.
