French sailor Franck Cammas has completed a world first – rounding Cape Horn in a foiling catamaran.

Cammas Rounds Cape Horn In Flying Catamaran

As part of the Julbo Sail Session, Franck Cammas rounded Cape Horn in a Nacra F20 Carbon FCS accompanied by novice sailor Johannes Weibel (GER).

Weather conditions were good with 15 knots of winds and 2.5-metre waves.

"It's been a really great and successful adventure," says Cammas after getting back on land. "It’s unusual to have a weather window in 10 days for a boat like this to round Cape Horn. It's my third passage and it’s really uncommon to do it with such a small boat."

The duo of Cammas and his teammate traveled a total of nearly 100 nautical miles by flying catamaran in the freezing waters of Patagonia.
