This contemporary yacht is designed to be consistent with the other models in the builder’s Motor Yacht line, including the Hatteras 100 Raised Pilothouse and the 70 Motor Yacht.
“We are expanding our Motor Yacht series in order to let our customers choose from a larger portfolio to meet their individual needs,” says Hatteras/CABO Yachts President & CEO John W. S. Ward. “These are semi-custom yachts that give owners a wider range of opportunities for personalization. In addition, we will offer the Hatteras 90 Motor Yacht in both open and enclosed flybridge versions.”
Like its siblings, the 28.1-metre 90 Motor Yacht will benefit from Hatteras Yachts’ resin-infused fiberglass construction technology, ensuring the hull has the ideal strength-to-weight ratio. It will also house a recent Hatteras innovation: a fuel tank that is integral to the hull rather than being a separate box, providing greater fuel storage space as well as additional weight-savings.
“The 90 Motor Yacht will have one large integral fuel tank and two smaller tanks, instead of the four or five tanks you might expect to find in a yacht of this size,” says Hatteras Yachts Director of Product Design David Brown. “We are simplifying the fuel tankage and transfer system.”
The yacht’s hull has a similar design to that of the 100 Raised Pilothouse and 70 Motor Yachts, with deep hull tunnels in order to keep the draft under five feet. The new 90 Motor Yacht is available with Caterpillar or MTU diesel engines ranging from 1,600 bhp to 1,920 bhp a piece.

With a flexible interior arrangement, the standard layout places the galley forward along with a casual seating and dining area. An optional arrangement moves the galley to amidships and the dining table aft, creating a unique saloon forward that benefits from the extra privacy afforded by this location.
The main deck windows are large and frameless, maximising views of the water around the yacht. The Hatteras design team also created optional fold-out balconies for the main deck that are incorporated into the bulwarks, offering guests a further connection between vessel and sea. The lower-deck guest area has four staterooms accommodating eight guests in comfort and privacy.
Outdoor entertaining is maximised on the 90 Motor Yacht. The foredeck holds a couch, cocktail table and a large sun pad.
When it comes to entertaining guests the expansive flybridge on the 90 Motor Yacht is sure to be a popular spot. In addition to the fully equipped helm station, which is shaded by a hardtop on the Open version, the flybridge holds a dining table for eight and a bar. There is plenty of room on the boat deck for multiple sun lounges.
Hatteras Yachts plans to debut the new 90 Motor Yacht at the 2017 Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show.
