Simpson Marine Secures Sale Of Two Sanlorenzo Yachts
Published: Wednesday, 16 December 2015
Yacht dealership, brokerage and service company Simpson Marine successfully sold two more Sanlorenzo superyachts bringing the total to three units sold since becoming the exclusive Asia distributor for Sanlorenzo in May 2015.
Soon after Simpson's appointment, the first Sanlorenzo yacht sold was a brokerage 46-meter Steel which was delivered to her Chinese buyer after the Monaco Yacht Show in October.
In November, a Letter of Intent was signed for a Sanlorenzo 460EXP.
Unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show, the 42.2m Sanlorenzo 460EXP is a beautifully fitted out superyacht designed for circumnavigation in safety and comfort. The yacht has a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure characterized by Sanlorenzo's unmistakable lines and is capable of cruising to remote destinations.
The 460EXP accommodates a helicopter landing pad and a three-man submarine as well as a small sport fishing boat, tender and other water sports equipment.
Great attention has been paid to the environment and its conservation. The yacht will receive two classifications by RINA: the Comfort Class classification due to low sound levels and minimised acoustic vibrations and the Green Plus classification as a result of technical characteristics and features which make the yacht “eco-friendly”.
The third Sanlorenzo yacht sold by Simpson Marine in Asia is the SL106 delivered to Hong Kong in early May 2015 and designed specifically for the China market.
The 32.2m yacht offers a spacious saloon with balconies and a yellow onyx bulkhead feature, as well as a separate dining room with a round table for 12 and an aquarium. The SL106 is from the planning hull motor yacht range, which has been Sanlorenzo's mainstay for more than three decades.
These recent sales are a clear sign of Sanlorenzo's growing reputation across the region and the appreciation of the company’s core values of timeless classic styling, fine craftsmanship, and made to measure elegance and sophistication.
Founded by Mike Simpson in 1984, Simpson Marine has sold dozens of superyachts to Asian buyers during the last 30 years and the company's appointment as the exclusive Asia distributor for Sanlorenzo provides a new motivation to the development of the company's superyacht division.

“There is growing interest in larger yachts among our Asian customers and the Sanlorenzo range is perfectly suited to the future superyacht market,” says Simpson Marine Founder Mike Simpson. “These three sales to Chinese buyers with more in the pipeline to other Asian countries, give us all at Simpson Marine a lot of confidence in this growing market segment and for the future of the company's superyacht division. Simpson Superyachts will be opening new offices in Hong Kong and Singapore next year, and we are actively recruiting for some of the industry’s best superyacht brokers to join our winning team.”
