The 2016 Taiwan International Boat Show (Mar 10-13) is returning to Kaohsiung for its second edition of the event.

Hosted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Kaohsiung City Government, and organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the event will take place at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and Horizon City Marina.

The show will include exhibitors from 10 different countries, 166 vendors, 1,005 indoor/outdoor booths, and 2,607 square metres of berth. The total exhibition area is 26,874 square meters. The show has eight main exhibition areas, showcasing a full range of products from the yacht industry supply chain, as well as an international industry forum, a practical yacht design workshop, and over 15 Ocean Forum Series events.

Exhibitors include 32 yacht manufacturers and agencies, 119 accessory and hardware vendors, 10 maritime service companies, three marine recreational companies, and two luxury product vendors.

Among the 32 yacht manufacturers and agencies showcasing at the event are Global Yacht Builders, Hsing Hong Marine Industries, Tachou Shipbuilding Co, Princess Yachts Taiwan and Amal Yachting.

Simpson Marine Taiwan will be showcasing top models from the number-one sailing boat builder in the world, Beneteau Group with a Lagoon 450 catamaran, an Oceanis 38 sailing yacht and the MC6, a power boat from the Monte Carlo range.

Taiwan’s biggest yacht-exporter, Horizon Group, will be bringing three large boats to TIBS, including an RP120 raised pilothouse superyacht. At 120ft, it will be the largest yacht at the show. Taiwan-based Ocean Alexander, a first-time exhibitor, and New Ocean Yachts will also be displaying models in excess of 80ft.

The exhibition will feature 63 luxury yachts from all over the world including Taiwan, Sweden, Italy, UK and Germany, with sizes ranging from nine feet (about three metres) to 122-feet (37.2 meters).

The 2016 TIBS will hold several peripheral events targeted at various audience groups, with content tailored for both novice and professional levels. The event highlight is the "Global Market, Trend & Design TIBS Summit Forum" to be held on the second day of the show (Mar 11).

In addition, several Ocean Forum events will be held which aims to teach the public about the ocean as well as marine recreation from various perspectives including history, science, environmentalism and recreation.
