Published: Thursday, 14 April 2016
After 10 months of filming, British yacht builder Sunseeker International’s feature in the BBC Two documentary ‘Britain’s Biggest Superyachts: Chasing Perfection’ will be airing Friday, April 15 at 9pm in the UK. Check your local listings in Asia.
The programme sees the BBC film crew follow the build of Sunseeker International’s new 131 Yacht through to its launch. The crew filmed fascinating behind the scenes footage to capture the journey of the new 131 superyachts from concept to build at the manufacturing facility in Poole, and then through to final delivery.
The 131 Yacht enables its owner to tailor every element of the interior design and layout to their personal preferences via Sunseeker’s unique ‘Bespoke’ service, which is highlighted in the documentary.
As well as documenting the build in its Dorset shipyards, filming also took place during the boat shows in the latter half of 2015 and at the London Boat Show this year, with several people from Sunseeker’s team appearing in the one-hour programme.
The show will be airing in time for the launch of Sunseeker’s new website. The site features fresh imagery and content, utilising the latest technology.
New online content includes improved yacht information, updated brand history and heritage, news from across the business, as well as lifestyle features including destination-inspired editorial from the quarterly Sunseeker magazine. The new imagery features the entire range of stunning motor yachts in locations across the globe.
Another standout feature of the new website is the addition of a translation platform, which will be introduced in the coming weeks. This feature will transform the site into a multi-lingual website with a total of eight languages available for visitors, created with Sunseeker’s diverse customer base in mind.
The UK builder was acquired by China's Dalian Wanda Group in 2013. The commercial property and entertainment conglomerate owns 91.81 per cent of Sunseeker.
